Join our hosts, Elevate Unity and BFox Productions as they launch an extraordinary show for a new monthly Soul music series at the Barrell Room, formally the legendary and historic  "Key Largo" nightclub. Starting with a November special. Black Saturday Soul Explosion features the unparalleled show-stopping dance band, the Gold Experience with special guests.

Feel the undeniable essence of the music that defines multiple generations and is curated to deliver a seamless musical performance to keep you on the dance floor.

The band is anchored by legendary PDX producer/percussionist Brian Foxworth. He's joined by touring bass bad boy, Ben Jones and the nationally recognized keyboardist Nick Rolfe plus renowned lead guitarist extraordinaire Mr. Doug Lewis of the historic R&B band Pleasure. It doesn't stop there, we've added performances by smooth special guest vocalists Jane Edwards, Brika de'Tar, and Gospel sensation Johanna McCoy!

The Gold Experience Band takes some of the Northwest’s top, world-class musicians and provides the best of the best in many genres of music including but certainly not limited to soul, R&B, funk, jazz, and pop. Individually the lineup has backed artists from Curtis Salgado, Buddy Guy, BB King, The late PeeWee Ellis, The Drifters, Frank McComb, Pleasure and Neville Brothers to Sting, Aretha Franklin, and Anita Baker. JAHANA MCCOY: Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, spent much of her childhood heavily involved with music. She has been singing since the age of 3 years old. She began her singing career singing with her mother, brother, and sister, formerly known as “The Jones Family’. Singing with her family, allowed her to appear on the well-noted TV show “Showtime at the Apollo” at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY. On her music career path, JAHANA has been allowed to share the stage along with adding her striking soprano sound on background vocals for both Gospel music and R&B greats to name a few; Pattie Labelle, Philly’s own Musiq Soulchild, Ceelo Green, Christina Aguilera, The Roots, Lil Mo, Cassidy, Jonathan McReynolds, Kierra Sheard, Vashawn Mitchell and JJ Hairston. JAHANA’s goal is to be an instrument that touches the hearts of her audience through music to help save the lost soul and become a bridge to people looking for God.

Brika de Tar: Singer/songwriter, Brika de Tar, began her singing career over 15 years ago, performing in various venues throughout the Nashville music scene as well as in Portland, OR. performing at various festivals and venues. Brikas vocal vibe is fashioned from the world of R&B, Neo Soul, Jazz, and the genres that we all love the most. Brikas undeniable energy, sultry and transparent vocal vision of life and love will take you on a much-needed journey. She has dedicated herself to creating an atmosphere in which you can feel the vulnerability of her soul's deep love for the art of music from the first to the last note she sings. Be on the lookout for Brika de Tars' highly anticipated debut album “Recycled Love”!
