Join our hosts, Elevate Unity and BFox Productions as they bring another extraordinary show for their new monthly Soul music series Key Largo Live at the Barrell Room. 

The space was formally the legendary and historic Key Largo nightclub club Portland's no.1 spot for live music in the '80s and '90s. This epic live music series pays homage to that incredible baby boomer music community and the many talented local artists that graced this same original stage.

So many went on to national fame producing music that stands the test of time. Look out for some of your favorite bands and artists from the past as we invite them out to perform and celebrate Portland’s rich live music history and all those who performed live at Key Largo.

The Saturday Explosion features the unparalleled show-stopping dance band, Five Grand with Brian Foxworth. Enjoy this showcase of Soul, Funk, and R&B music from the 70s, 80s, & 90s. Dance to the beat of the hit music that defined multiple generations. This night is curated to deliver a seamless musical performance and experience that will keep you wanting more.

About the band:

Tarshene Pinney – Tarshene has a captivating presence when performing for an audience. She has an extensive background in the industry creating vocal arrangements for the likes of Andy Stokes, Nu Shooz and others. 

Eddie West - Has performed on numerous stages throughout his music career, from several years in the Portland All–City orchestras, participating in the award-winning Sounds of Jefferson and MHCC jazz orchestras, performing with such luminaries as Ed Shaunessy, Buddy Rich, and Freddie Hubbard.

Brian Foxworth – As a leader of multiple bands and sideman for national artists, Brian has received critical acclaim for his musical abilities, from multiple Cascade Blues awards to being inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2015. Brian has performed with legendary acts such as Pleasure, The Drifters, Paul DeLay, and Curtis Salgado.

Kenton Davey – Kenton is a versatile keyboardist with extensive live performance experience. He has established himself as a sought-after contributor to the local music scene, with his dynamic style, Kenton continues to elevate each project he takes on.

Michkael Baker - Michkael Baker launched his career with Body and Soul, quickly gaining exposure through performances with Celine Dion and opening for NSYNC. As the lead singer of Portland, Oregon's event band, Swingline Cubs, Michkael has cultivated a vibrant musical presence. 

Ricky Varnado – Hailing from Magnolia, MS, Ricky has recorded and toured with several gospel groups including the Varnado Bros which included his late brother Reo. He has also toured with his nephew, legendary Snoop Dogg as well as performing with local heavyweights Hit Machine and Andy Stokes.
